Everyone has their own learning style, visual, audio and physical, not one size fits all when it comes to dancing. Depending on your learning style and your expectations, music and such will determine how many lessons to take. The ideal number of sessions to take is 10 sessions. In a perfect world we all would love to feel our beloved embrace and gaze into their eyes all day, but as life has it we have work and other obligations to look after. Completing 10 sessions will have you looking and feeling confident on the dance floor.
Planning a wedding is stressful regardless if you are working with a wedding planner or two. The sooner you start your lessons the better! On average you should start your dance lessons 6 to 3 months before your wedding date. If you can walk you can dance however, it is best to learn something new in bite-size pieces. Dancing involves your full body, the brain and the body need time to coordinate together with music and with a partner. Trust us dancing a personal experience and you will learn so much about each other and yourself during the experience.
To get the most out of your dance session our teaching instruction is a full 60 minutes [1-hour], on average it takes 1-hour to teach 1 minute of choreography [times 2] the grooms' dance steps and the brides' dance steps.
Its true practice makes perfect! Taking 15 to 30 minutes per day practicing on your own will help you move through your scheduled sessions faster. We understand that life happens and practicing dance moves may not be at the top of the list. The recommended 10 sessions will help alleviate the pressure of finding time to practice.
Both Bride & Groom should wear shoes similar to the style they will be dancing in during the wedding reception. This also Includes the wedding party.
Women should wear shoes similar to the heel height during the wedding reception for each session. During the class, the dress attire should be comfortable clothing for the 1st couple of weeks.
